While going through the weddings I shot this year to put together this album, out of curiosity I plugged in my old hard drive and skimmed through my old work from 2010, back when I had just started shooting weddings. It’s been almost ten years now and looking back at my past work brought back many bittersweet memories. The start of the journey was the toughest – trying to establish oneself, getting jobs, accepting odd jobs to make ends meet while finding my footing in an already-saturated industry. Along the way I crossed paths with some individuals (one who is sadly no longer with us) who gave me opportunities which lead me to where I am today, for which I am immensely thankful.
Keeping in touch with some of my earliest couples and watching their kids grow certainly gave me a warm fuzzy feeling and I am reminded of why I do what I do. While no one can predict the future, I’d be really happy if I can continue this journey for the next decade. Ten years sounds like a long time, but I feel like I’m only just getting started now.
As 2019 draws to a close, I’d like to thank all my couples for the opportunities they have given me and the trust that they have placed in me. I am really honoured to be the one out of the hundreds of wedding photographers who was given the chance to be a part of your wedding day and a chapter of your story. May 2020 bring an abundance of health and happiness to each and everyone of you.
